Peruvian Amazon tours & cruises

Cocha Otorongo, Manu | Amazon Peru tours and cruises

While touring Peru we highly recommend taking advantage of the short distance to tour or cruise part of the Amazon. The Amazon basin extends into Peru and covers an unbelievable 60% of the country. It stretches from north to south and abuts the Andes. There are various world-reknowned reserves and national parks you can choose from, each distinct.

If you are going to Cuzco, then by far the closest Amazon tour is just a short 40 minutes flight away to Puerto Maldonado for access to Tambopata National Reserve and the slightly remoter Manu National Park. Otherwise from Quito the easiest access is to Iquitos to the north where you can visit upstream lodges on the bank of the Amazon River, or cruise down to the relatively pristine Pacaya-Samiria Reserve.
